Information on the Andalusian and P.R.E. Horse

ANCCE (Asociacion Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Pura Raza Espanola / Association of the National PRE Horse Breeders) is the organization responsible for the licensing of Morphology based shows of horses registered with the Spanish Studbook.

These shows consist of 14 sections for mares, stallions, and geldings divided by sex and age group. Horses are showing in hand (and for some horses under saddle) and judged by a licensed ANCCE judge in both morphology and movement.

ANCCE licenses shows across the world, where horses compete for top honors.

Usually in November of each year, the SICAB (Salon International Del Caballo) is held. This show brings horses from across the globe to compete against each other in the same arena for the Champion of the World titles (or Campeon (a) del mundo). In addition to typical halter and functionality classes, SICAB also boasts dressage, show jumping, spanish highschool, working equitation, doma vaquera, and driving competitions as well.

All ANCCE shows both national and international are governed by the same set of rules, making the competition arena equal no matter in what country the competition takes place.

These Rules of ANCCE competitions may be viewed here, along with the score sheets that are used in these shows: 2020 Rules and Regulations

If you would like to hold an ANCCE show please view the form here: 2020 ANCCE Show form, and Return the filled-out form to concursos@ancce.com or fax it to +34-954-69-03-27

In addition to the Championships and placings in halter, movement, and functionality ANCCE shows also offer classes absolutely unique to the Andalusian Breed, The Cobra of Mares

At each show, as well as SICAB additional awards for Best Breeder, Best Exhibitor, Champion of Functionality, Champion of Movement, as well as Champion Stallion, Mare, Colt and Filly are also awarded.

In order to compete in ANCCE shows your horse must first and foremost be registered with the Spanish Studbook, and horses 4 years and over must be ‘revised’ or ‘Apto’ (not applicable to geldings). Stallions 4 years and over MUST compete in functionality (mares competition is optional).

Owners do not have to be a member of ANCCE to compete, but depending on who or what organization hosts the show, there may be other membership fees or requirements.
