Agente

Registered Name: AGENTE (1959)

Sired by: MALUSO

Out of: MALTESA II

Bay 15.1hh stallion bred by the Yeguada Militar. Born in 1959 and lived at the Yeguada Militar until his death in 1971. During his 12 years of life he sired 87 registered foals. His first foals were produced in 1966 to Yeguada Militar mares, including Maluca, and Lusitania (The top 2 Yeguada Militar mares of the stud). In the following 5 years Agente became one of the most used stallions of this program producing multiple foals that are now seen as the cornerstone of many breeding programs today. Compared to todays Andalusian Agente would be considered slightly “Arabian” in his profile and conformation, have less bone than is currently desired, and excel in suspended and hind end driven movement.

His foals of note include:

Of note Leviton and Jenson are often thought to have introduced to modern competitive movement of the Andalusian today. Lebrijano III is often seen as a backbone line for larger bone and impulsion in todays Spanish Horse.

It is estimated that more than 22,000 horses may be traced back to Agente.
